    Ingredients

    • 200g sourdough starter (fed or unfed, at room temperature)
    • 240g all-purpose flour
    • 2 large eggs
    • 120ml whole milk
    • 80g unsalted butter, melted and cooled
    • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • Cooking spray or additional melted butter for waffle iron

    Instructions

    Step 1

In a large bowl, whisk together the sourdough starter, eggs, milk, melted butter, and sugar until well combined.

    Step 2

In a separate medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

    Step 3

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined and no streaks of flour remain. Be careful not to overmix the batter.

    Step 4

Heat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions and lightly grease it with cooking spray or melted butter.

    Step 5

Pour or scoop approximately 1/2 to 3/4 cup of batter onto the hot waffle iron, depending on its size.

    Step 6

Close the lid and cook for 4-6 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.

    Step 7

Carefully remove the cooked waffle and place it on a wire rack to prevent it from becoming soggy.

    Step 8

Repeat with the remaining batter, serving the waffles immediately with your favorite toppings.
